Friday Drama … Jesus Take the Wheel

David has been in LA for work the past couple of days, which means the boys and I are missing him.

Also means I get ALL the snuggles and loves before bedtime … and two little hands fighting over which one gets to hold mine as we read our bedtime stories and tell their dad goodnight.

I know it seems trivial, but I pray I remember this sweetness tomorrow when these two little hands are fighting over toys and who gets the green marker and who’s sitting in Mommy’s lap while we build Lego trucks …

… and when the little one’s meltdowns are rolling over us in waves and the big one’s listening and attention skills have all but evaporated

… and when patience quite literally has been knocked the heck out of me (these little boys move through the house like freight trains and steam rollers).

The end of the week can be testy like that.

BUT …

I also know the boys and I will probably learn a little something about forgiveness and grace and humility, how to be kind when it’s hard, and how to love with our actions.

The struggle bus can drive us in a hundred different directions to a hundred different destinations, but here’s praying that—in the midst of all the noise and traffic—I have the presence of mind/heart/spirit to let Jesus take the wheel … any wheel … even if that means rolling down the road on a deflated spare for a few more miles, haha.

He always gets us to where we need to go.

Friday drama, we’re ready for you this time.
